"Our commitment to 'panth' and Punjab, especially farmers and the other poorer sections, is not subject to election results. We will work even harder to fulfill our commitment to the aggrieved and downtrodden sections of the society," the SDA chief said in a statement.

Having won seven of the thirteen parliamentary constituencies, it has given a fresh hope to the Congress of being a favourite for the 2027 assembly elections. However, in terms of vote share the Congress got almost the same percentage of votes as the AAP. While the AAP got 26 percent, the Congress got 26.4.

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C has announced a new initiative to boost voter turnout in the state. On Monday, he revealed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will receive an incentive of Rs 5,000 if they achieve a voter turnout increase of 10 percent or more compared to the 2019 elections. Additionally, BLOs at booths with voter turnout exceeding 75 percent will receive similar incentives.

The Election Commission of India has made significant changes in the police leadership of two major cities in Punjab amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
