In its eighth list of 14 candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress fielded Virendra Chaudhary, instead of Supriya Shrinate, from Maharajganj.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Neha’s father Ajit Sharma said that both the party and he wanted Neha to fight in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress had unveiled 10 candidates on March 12, while the BJP had declared 15 candidates by the same date. Notably, the Congress has opted to reserve the Sikar parliamentary seat for the Communist Party of India (Marxist). All the five Congress candidates are newcomers to Lok Sabha elections.

State party head Ramakant Pippal attributed their decision to join BSP to the influence of party chief Mayawati. Sources indicate Patel, Tripathi, and Ahirwar may be contenders for BSP tickets in Rewa, Satna, and Tikamgarh parliamentary constituencies, respectively.

Before filing the nomination paper for the coming Lok Sabha election, a massive road show was held in Sidhi, which was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla, minister Prahlad Singh Patel and several other BJP leaders.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) PK Pole stated that extensive surveys, including the "KAP" (Know, Aptitude, Practices) study, revealed significant disparities in voter turnout between Jammu and Kashmir divisions.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, contesting for the sixth time, aims to reclaim the Guna Lok Sabha seat, a stronghold of the Scindia family. Despite the option to run from Gwalior, he prioritizes Guna. Congress speculation suggests former PCC President Arun Yadav as a potential rival against Scindia.

Ten sitting MPs have been re-nominated. However, their nomination has sparked opposition within the party’s ranks. With the changes, the BJP seems to have given a clear message to rebellions that it will not cow down to any such threats.
