JP Nadda, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), convened a late-night meeting with party leaders at his residence on Monday to assess the voter turnout in the initial phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

The polling day witnessed enthusiastic participation across five constituencies in Maharashtra, with voters queuing up since the early hours. Among them was Amge, whose presence at the polling booth garnered attention and admiration.

The inked finger is visible on Google celebrating voting day on April 19 as the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections kicks off.

"In our great democracy, elections belong to you, the choice belongs to you... you are deciding the government. You are doing it for your sake, for your family and children, for your village or town and, of course, for the country," he said. 

As many as 102 parliamentary constituencies across 21 states and Union territories will go to polls in the first phase which is also the largest of the seven phases of the elections.
