A series of events occurred with Rs 35 Crore cash recovery, arrest of a Minister’s Personal Secretary (A Jharkhand Administrative Service Officer) and his house help and finally the arrest of Rural Development Minister cum Congress Legislature Party leader of Jharkhand Alamgir Alam. 

The Minister is being questioned after Rs 35 Crore cash recovery linked to his personal secretary.

The fortunes of 45 candidates, including Union Minister and BJP leader Arjun Munda, are tied up in today's poll, in which the highest number of 15 contestants are in Lohardaga, followed by Singhbhum (14), Palamu (9), and Khunti (7).

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a significant step in its investigation into a money laundering case by summoning Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam for questioning.

Raids continue on second day, note sorting machines brought to count cash.

ED takes both into custody under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following their overnight questioning.
