National Science Day: PM Modi reaffirms Centre's efforts to encourage research & innovation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday on the occasion of National Science Day affirmed his government's commitment to encourage research and innovation among the youth of the nation. 

 

The prime minister wrote in a post on X, "Greetings on National Science Day. Our Government is continuously working to encourage research and innovation among the youth. This is important to realise our dream of a Viksit Bharat."

 

Celebrated in India every year on February 28, the day is observed to commemorate the discovery of the 'Raman effect' by scientist C V Raman, who won the Nobel prize in physics for the groundbreaking finding.

This year's theme for National Science Day 2024 is 'Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat'.
