He even added that the onus of the Congress's victory in other states lies with its allies.

“…As a member of the NDA we look forward to working with you and deliver your agenda of ‘Sab Ka Sath Sabka Vikas’ (development for all),” reads the letter through which Gowda extends support of the JD(S) to the BJP.

With the help of the note, which stresses on Indian democracy being robust irrespective of Congress’s narrative, Gowda expresses gratitude to the BJP for offering a Cabinet birth to JD(S) in NDA 3.0.

Additionally, the 73-year-old would-be prime minister will be equalling the feat of first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who won in 1952, 1957 and 1962 general elections.

Leaders from India's neighbourhood and the Indian Ocean Region are among the dignitaries and special invitees who will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the prime minister and his council of ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7.15 pm.

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership and allies held a series of meetings for a formula of sharing berths among different constituents of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the new government.
