Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that his office should serve the people rather than act as a personal power centre. In his first address to PMO officials after assuming office for the third time, he stressed the importance of value addition in achieving goals and maintaining a firm resolve.

After signing the file, PM Modi stated, "Ours is a government fully committed to Kisan Kalyan. It is therefore fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare. We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come."

The Chief Minister expressed optimism that Himachal Pradesh would get substantial financial support from the Union Government for the development initiatives in Himachal Pradesh during his stint as the Prime Minister. 

The son of JD(S) patriarch and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda has now managed to secure a cabinet berth by allying with the BJP, at a time when his party was fighting a "battle for survival."

When he took oath as the prime minister for the first time in 2014, Modi had worn a cream linen kurta-pyjama with a beige golden jacket. For his 2019 swearing-in ceremony, the prime minister had chosen a similar dress paired with a beige jacket.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath of office for his third consecutive term at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The swearing-in ceremony was a grand and historic event, signifying the continuation of his leadership for the nation.

"I will take oath as Cabinet Minister around 7.30 pm on 9th June 2024," Rijiju, the Earth Sciences Minister in the outgoing government, said in a post on X. 

Party veteran HD Deve Gowda thanked Narendra Modi for granting a Cabinet position to JD(S) in NDA 3.0.

In the previous two Lok Sabhas, the largest opposition party Congress could not get the post as it did not have the requisite numbers, which is one-tenth of the strength of the House.  In the 16th Lok Sabha, the Congress had 44 MPs, while in the 17th Lok Sabha, it had 55.

According to sources familiar with the development, prominent leaders such as Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar, who managed the Home, Defence, Finance, and External Affairs ministries respectively, will continue in their roles.
