Congress has released its eighth list of 14 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, including three nominees from Madhya Pradesh. It nominates Pratap Bhanu Sharma against former MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Vidisha, and Rao Yadvendra Singh against Union Minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia in Guna.

Congress announces senior Congress leaders to contest Lok Sabha Polls in Madhya Pradesh, fields Rao Yadvendra Singh against Jyotiraditya Scindia in Guna.

The Congress released its eighth list of 14 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday evening, including three nominees from Madhya Pradesh.

 

Among the notable candidates announced, Rao Yadvendra Singh will contest against Union Minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia from Guna in the Gwalior-Chambal region.

 

 Singh, who joined Congress approximately a year ago, is the son of former BJP MLA from Mungaoli, Rao Deshraj Singh. He previously contested the election from Mungaoli assembly seat in 2023 as a Congress nominee.

 

Former MLA Tarwar Singh Lodhi has also been nominated by the Congress to challenge BJP's Rahul Lodhi in Damoh.

 

Senior Congress leader Bhanu Pratap Sharma is set to contest the Lok Sabha polls against former Chief Minister and veteran BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Vidisha. Pratap Bhanu Sharma won the Lok Sabha elections in 1980 and 1984.

 

Additionally, senior party leader Tarvar Singh Lodhi has been given the ticket from Damoh, where the BJP has fielded former MLA Rahul Singh Lodhi.

 

The Congress has now declared the names of candidates for 25 out of 28 constituencies it plans to contest in Madhya Pradesh. The Khajuraho seat has been allotted to the Samajwadi Party as per the seat-sharing agreement.

 

The Congress has not yet declared candidates for Khandwa, Gwalior, and Morena seats. The BJP has already announced the names of candidates on 29 LS seats.
