Actor Prakash Raj, known for his vocal support of Left-leaning ideologies, criticized the decision of the CPI(M)-led LDF to field a candidate against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency.

While Tharoor is seeking a fourth term from the constituency of Thiruvananthapuram, this will be Chandrasekhar’s first Lok Sabha election

The Congress candidate from Thiruvananthapuram said the only effect of the CPI’s campaign against him in the constituency is to divide the anti-Bharatiya Janata Party vote, “and they preach alliance dharma in Wayanad”.
