Jakhar raised concerns about unaddressed issues in Punjab, including drugs, sacrilege, and deteriorating law and order. He urged the state AAP government to take action, citing the alarming rise in hate crimes, radical elements, and terror activities. 

Jakhar said, "The renaming of the Adampur Airport after the 15th-century spiritual sage Guru Ravidas, as already expressed by you during your recent visit to Punjab, will go a long way to underpin the ethos of spirituality in the diversity that binds India. This has also been a long-pending demand from the people of Punjab." 

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C has announced a new initiative to boost voter turnout in the state. On Monday, he revealed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will receive an incentive of Rs 5,000 if they achieve a voter turnout increase of 10 percent or more compared to the 2019 elections. Additionally, BLOs at booths with voter turnout exceeding 75 percent will receive similar incentives.

"AAP has committed the biggest betrayal with one crore women of Punjab above 18 years of age, who are still waiting to get Rs 1,000 per month," he said.

"To ensure higher voter turnout and safeguard public health, I, on behalf of BJP Punjab, request that the voting hours be extended to include cooler periods of the day and the voting be allowed from 6 am to 7 pm," the BJP leader said.

In a significant operation on Tuesday, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully dismantled a cross-border smuggling racket dealing in illegal weapons and drugs. This joint effort led to the arrest of one individual and the seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and arms.

Badal on Wednesday expelled Kahlon from the primary membership of the SAD for "anti-party" activities and "backstabbing" the party.

Jakhar expressed apprehension about the "possible collusion" of the ruling AAP and other parties in causing obstructions and encumbrances in the campaign of the BJP candidates. 

"I have been working in the constituency for the past many years. People in my area are saying that they will ensure my victory," he asserted, adding, "I guarantee that I will win by a margin of over 2.50 lakh votes." 

Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar on Thursday dismissed AAP MLAs' allegations that they were offered money to join the saffron party, saying he was "amazed at their audacity".
