The former Indian Minister of State for External Affairs further remarked that had India not extended a helping hand, it could have led to negative repercussions on the international stage, potentially damaging India’s relationships with other nations. 

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi visited the landslide-hit area of Chooralmala in Wayanad, Kerala. They were accompanied by KC Venugopal, Congress general secretary. The visit took place in the aftermath of two massive landslides that struck Mundakkai and Chooralmala on July 30, causing significant destruction, loss of lives, and injuries to hundreds.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has criticised the Kerala government for its handling of the recent landslides in Wayanad, stating that more lives could have been saved if the state had acted on the early warnings provided by the central government.
