IOA President PT Usha expressed her "shock and disappointment" at the CAS ruling, which upheld the decision in favour of United World Wrestling (UWW) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

MP Wankhede suggested on Wednesday that the disqualification was linked to her protests against former BJP MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh.

"The world celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga on June 21 and the response to its universal has been overwhelming. People across nations have embraced yoga and drawn benefits," Usha said in the letter.

This assertion follows a series of acts of defiance by the council, including the issuance of termination letters to an official appointed under Usha's tenure.
