IOA President PT Usha expressed her "shock and disappointment" at the CAS ruling, which upheld the decision in favour of United World Wrestling (UWW) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The ad-hoc division of the CAS on Wednesday dismissed wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal against her disqualification from the women’s 50kg freestyle final of the Olympic games. 

As of now, Vinesh has returned to India from the Games Village after the conclusion of the Olympics. Although her arrival was not publicly documented, Mahavir Phogat assured that the family is planning a hero's welcome for her, aiming to celebrate her achievements as if she were a gold medalist.

In Tokyo Olympics, the group of 54 athletes brought 19 medals, with five golds, eight silver, six bronze and was called India’s best rendition at Paralympics in 2021. In Hangzhou Asian para games, 2023, India clinched 11 medals.

Pramod Bhagat, the Tokyo gold medallist para shuttler, has been suspended for 18 months due to his failure to provide information about his whereabouts. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the Paris Paralympic Games.

Chanu’s total of 199kg was just one kilogram shy of the bronze medal, highlighting how close she came to the podium.

Bhaker won bronze in both the women’s 10m air pistol and the mixed 10m air pistol event with Sarabjot Singh.
