It has been decided that a steering committee would be formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The road map for the vision will be prepared in 3 months.

The apex body of NITI Aayog, chaired by PM Modi, includes all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of union territories, and several union ministers.

CM Banerjee confirmed on Friday her participation in Niti Aayog meeting to register her protest against a “discriminatory budget”.

"Punjab should have been given the special status. But the situation is such that Punjab's rights have also not been given. That is why we will boycott the Niti Aayog meeting in which all the chief ministers have been called by the prime minister on July 27," the chief minister said.

Taking to X, Congress MP KC Venugopal said "...INC CMs will be boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for 27th July.”

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh (Defence), Amit Shah (Home), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Agriculture), and Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance) will be the four ex-officio members.

"Ahead of the Council meeting, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will likely give a glimpse of the Viksit Bharat vision and action plan in the Budget on July 23," the official said.
