Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will begin the Jan Samman Yatra, an outreach programme of the ruling NCP ahead of the state assembly election, from Dindori in Nashik district on August 8, his party announced on Monday.

Several leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have returned to the faction led by Sharad Pawar after resigning from the camp led by Ajit Pawar. This notable shift occurred on Wednesday when leaders gathered at Sharad Pawar's residence in Pune. Ajit Gavhane, the former chief of NCP's Pimpri-Chinchwad unit, was among those who rejoined Sharad Pawar's faction.

It is expected that they will be joining the party led by Sharad Pawar later this week.

Talking to reporters, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut claimed that NCP leaders like Ajit Pawar, Dilip Walse Patil and Sunil Tatkare had opposed Shinde's name for the CM's post saying they will not work under a junior and inexperienced person like him.
