The voter turnout in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections is approximately 62.19 per cent, which is 1.97 percentage points lower than in 2019.

Maharashtra reported the lowest participation at 48.88%, while West Bengal saw the highest at 73%. 

Prominent stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and many others made their way to polling stations across the city to participate in the democratic process.

Mukesh Ambani emphasized the importance of voting in a brief statement to the media. “Harek bhartiyon ko vote dena chahie, yah meri sab deshvasiyon se appeal hai…,” he said, urging every Indian to participate in the electoral process.

West Bengal recorded the highest turnout at 62.72 per cent, while Maharashtra saw the lowest at 38.77 per cent.

Among the constituencies, Arambag (SC) witnessed the highest voter turnout at 55.37 per cent. Uluberai followed closely with 52.79 per cent, while Hooghly recorded 50.50 per cent.

The poll panel claimed to receive 1,036 complaints from both TMC & BJP until 11 am.

Polling stations in various parts of Mumbai experienced a steady turnout, with early voters such as Union Minister Piyush Goyal, industrialist Anil Ambani, and actor Akshay Kumar casting their ballots. Other prominent early voters included Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das, former Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, actors Janhvi Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar, and Marathi theatre actor Prashant Damle.
