As the landscape of Indian cricket evolves, it is clear that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and national selectors want Kohli, Rohit, and Ravindra Jadeja to exit the T20 stage on a high note.

“We've seen some high scores this year. And it's been incredible batting by a few teams and few individual players in this IPL. And look, I always see everyone judges a batter on the average," Miller stated. 

His comments come at a time when the Indian Premier League (IPL) is witnessing a season of record-breaking totals. 

The BCCI on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies in June, keeping the hard-hitting middle-order batter, who has played 15 T20Is, in the reserves, along with Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.

"Shami was in London in the last week of January to take special ankle injections and he was told that after three weeks, he can start light running and take it from thereon. But the injection hasn't worked and now the only option left is surgery. He will shortly leave for the UK for surgery. IPL seems out of the question," a senior BCCI source said speaking on anonymity.

Speaking to reporters, Dhumal said to begin with, only the schedule of the first 15 days will be announced and the roster for the remaining games will be decided after the announcement of the general election dates.
