From leaders of the Congress to Shiv Sena (UBT) to Samajwadi Party and AAP question the Central government on Hindenburg allegations.

Rahul Gandhi said, "The Modi government even collected Rs 24,000 crore from millions of common Indians who pay health insurance premiums every year by saving every penny to ensure that they do not have to bow down to anyone in case of a 'health crisis' in life. Looking for a 'tax opportunity' in every disaster is proof of the insensitive thinking of the BJP government. INDIA Alliance opposes this opportunistic thinking. Health and life insurance must be made GST-free". 

The United Opposition Forum Assam (UOFA), initially comprising 16 parties in alignment with the INDIA bloc, convened a crucial meeting where several strategic decisions were taken to bolster their coalition.

On Wednesday, Jagan, whose party is now reduced to four MPs in the Parliament and 11 MLAs in the Assembly, hosted several Opposition leaders on his protest stage, including Akhilesh and leaders of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav), Trinamool Congress and Tamil Nadu Dalit outfit VCK.

INDIA bloc leaders held a meeting at Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence on July 23, after which the decision to protest was announced.

As votes were tabulated on Saturday for the by-elections held earlier this week, trends on the EC website showed that the Indian bloc parties had won four assembly seats and were leading on six.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday said all partners of the opposition INDIA bloc will try to ensure support for the ruling ally Telugu Desam Party (TDP) if it fields a candidate for the Lok Sabha speaker's election.

A day after the election results gave the BJP-led NDA a clear majority, the ruling and opposition alliances held parallel evening meetings at the Prime Minister's residence and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's residence, respectively.

One of the major setbacks for BJP is the loss of Union Minister Arjun Munda, who was defeated by a huge margin of 149675 votes by Congress’ Kalicharan Munda in Khunti constituency. Kalicharan Munda has lost the 2019 election by a narrow margin of a few hundred votes.

"We won't say anything without asking the opinion of our allies. Our alliance will decide tomorrow and whatever they decide we will act on that," Gandhi said. 

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav cast doubt on the credibility of exit polls on Monday, alleging that the agencies conducting them were attempting to create a favourable atmosphere for the BJP.

The Congress party strongly condemned the latest exit polls as "bogus" and alleged them to be a deliberate ploy to justify potential election rigging, with Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh accusing PM Modi of playing "psychological games" to demoralise INDIA bloc workers .
