Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap said the safety of construction workers is of utmost importance. An investigation has been ordered to ensure adherence to all construction standards and to safeguard public safety, he said.

The extreme weather has also caused water from overflowing streams to enter several houses in Una, prompting the Lahaul and Spiti police to issue an advisory warning residents and travelers to exercise extreme caution. 

The regional Met office has also stated that there is an 'orange' warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, at isolated places on Saturday. Additionally, there is a 'yellow' warning for heavy rain until August 15.
