India is open to exploring more ways to increase its collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during a meeting with IMF's First Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath on Saturday.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman acknowledged on Saturday that the Indian garment and knitted fabric sector is experiencing some uncertainty due to the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh. Sitharaman expressed hope that the interim government in Bangladesh will resolve the situation "sooner rather than later."

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Moitra criticised the budget for failing to address the needs of the common people.
