Kavitha had been questioned by the ED three times last year in connection with this case. She was summoned again this year but did not appear, citing a Supreme Court directive providing her protection from coercive action.

The FIR was registered by Hemant Soren on January 31, two days after the search operations were conducted in Delhi. 

During the raid, mobile phones and digital devices were seized from land businessmen Ramesh Gope and Hilarius Kachhap. ED has also seized many documents related to land investment and land-related documents from both of them.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) disclosed this before the Special PMLA court in Ranchi in its remand petition. The court extended the police remand of Soren for another three days.

"They (ED) were asking for a four-day remand...They have no ground left for any further remand. They (ED) just want to buy time...They didn't have any new ground. They just want the case to be alive and stretch the remand period," Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan, Soren's counsel, told reporters. 

"ED has been directed to give a consolidated reply. The court has fixed February 27 as the date for final disposal. The amendment to our application has been allowed...Now hearing will be on the turn of events (leading to Hemant Soren's arrest). This is a good indication, now we can place all the facts before the court," Ranjan, Soren's counsel, said. 

Sahu, a close friend of the Gandhi family is a trained hunter of his time and is known for perfect shooting, however, at this point of time, the tax department and other anti-money money federal agencies are chasing his treasure troves. 

The searches were conducted at several premises in Uttarakhand, including Rawat’s residence in Dehradun, apart from Delhi and Chandigarh. 

The ED recorded Soren's statement for the first time in the case on January 20 after its investigators went to his official residence in Ranchi. 

ED sealed the residence and issued a summons for Sheikh to appear in person before its investigators by January 29, as part of the ongoing probe into the ration distribution scam.

The anti-corruption federal agency may have to face hindrance as Soren is learnt to have told the agency in advance that he may not be available till March due to his tight official schedules and engagements.

The ED resumed its raids on Friday and searched the residences of state Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose, TMC MLA Tapas Roy and another TMC leader in connection with the alleged irregularities in civic body recruitments.
