Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhvi Mishra reported a turnout of 56.77% in the block by 3 pm, marking a significant surge in voter enthusiasm.

Bishnupur (SC) marked the highest polling at 73.55%, followed by Jhargram (ST) at 72.26%, Tamluk at 71.63%, Kanthi at 71.36%, Ghatal at 71.34%, Medinipur at 67.91%, Bankura at 67.41%, and Purulia at 66.06%.

The initiative covered 181 polling booths across Ranchi, part of the 2,377 polling stations set up for the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat election.

A voter turnout of 40.48 per cent was recorded in Vaishali, 38.89 per cent in Sheohar, 37.75 per cent in Paschim Champaran, 37.57 per cent in Purvi Champaran, 36.64 per cent in Valmiki Nagar, 34.75 per cent in Maharajganj, 34.65 per cent in Gopalganj and 31.59 per cent in Siwan till 1 pm.

Official sources said an elderly woman voter who fell ill at a polling booth in Bhapur area of Nayagarh assembly segment died in hospital, while a polling agent died at a booth under Hindol assembly segment of Dhenkanal Lok Sabha seat.

Odisha's Chief Electoral Officer N B Dhal said voting has been peaceful so far in the 10,581 polling stations, barring some reports of EVM glitches.
