Air India to fly to Dhaka tonight; Vistara resumes Wed

Air India will operate its scheduled flight from the national capital to Dhaka on Tuesday evening, while Vistara's services to the Bangladesh capital will resume from 7 August.

 

The neighbouring country has plunged into uncertainty, and the situation remains volatile after street protests over job quotas forced Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and flee.

 

On Tuesday, Air India cancelled its morning flight to Dhaka but will operate its evening flights AI237/238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi route.

 

In a statement, the carrier announced a one-time waiver on rescheduling for passengers with confirmed bookings on any of its flights to and from Dhaka between 4 and 7 August. This offer applies to tickets booked on or before 5 August.

 

Under normal schedules, the Tata Group-owned airline operates two daily flights from the national capital to Dhaka.

 

According to an official, Vistara will operate its services as scheduled from Wednesday. Vistara provides daily flights from Mumbai and three weekly services from Delhi to Dhaka.

 

Both Vistara and IndiGo cancelled their Tuesday flights to the Bangladesh capital. An update from IndiGo regarding its Dhaka flights for Wednesday is awaited. 

 

IndiGo typically operates one daily flight from Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai to Dhaka, with two daily services from Kolkata to the Bangladesh capital.
