Mayawati vows to create separate statehood for western UP if elected to power

In a bold declaration made at a public rally in Muzaffarnagar on Sunday, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati announced her party's intention to pursue the creation of a separate state for western Uttar Pradesh if they secure power at the Centre.

 

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister asserted that the move aims at promoting the development of the region.

 

Addressing the gathered crowd, Mayawati said, "If you (people of the state) want, we will take strong steps to declare Western Uttar Pradesh as a separate state when our government will be formed at the Centre for development of people of this region." 

 

Mayawati emphasized her party's commitment to addressing the needs of various socio-economic groups, including the poor, laborers, farmers, and small business owners, upon ascending to power at the national level. She articulated her vision for equitable development, promising that the BSP administration would prioritize the welfare of these segments to bolster the progress of the region.

 

As the BSP gears up for the upcoming elections, the party has nominated Dara Singh Prajapati as its candidate from Muzaffarnagar.
