Crafted through recombinant DNA technology, the groundbreaking vaccine, set to hit the market soon, offers hope to poultry farmers battling significant losses from the feared disease, marking a major advancement in veterinary sciences in the country.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has witnessed a remarkable surge in budgetary allocation over the past decade, marking a significant commitment by the government towards advancing health research in the country.

Of the total active cases, a large majority of these (around 92 per cent) are recovering under home isolation.

The virus, which is recognised by the World Health Organization as a priority disease requiring urgent research, belongs to the same family of paramyxoviruses as more well-known pathogens like measles.
