Wrestling's world governing body UWW has suspended Bajrang Punia till the end of this year following NADA's decision to hand him a provisional suspension for refusing to undergo a dope test.

Bajrang Punia, renowned for his remarkable performances on the wrestling mat, faced a significant setback in the men’s freestyle 65kg category. Despite being a vocal critic of former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Punia's wrestling prowess couldn't secure him a victory.

In a decisive move, the United World Wrestling (UWW), the global governing body for wrestling, has thrown its weight behind the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), declaring that it will only accept entries for international competitions from the WFI and no other entity.

"This decision has again put Indian wrestlers under threat and harassment by WFI members," Punia wrote in his letter, shared on his social media handle.
