US State Department official Dorothy McAuliffe, the Special Representative for Global Partnerships, will visit India from June 7 to 8. During her visit, she will travel to Kochi to meet participants and deliver closing remarks at the WiSci (Women in Science) South Asia STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and design, and mathematics) Camp.

Garcetti highlighted the remarkable success stories of Indian immigrants, noting that more than one in ten CEOs of Fortune 500 companies are of Indian origin and have studied in the US. He quipped, "The old joke was you could not become a CEO in the US if you were Indian, now the joke is you cannot become a CEO in America if you are not Indian."

By adopting decarbonising pathways, Garcetti said, India could add a millions of jobs in the next 20 years. "I guarantee you, the quicker we do this (decarbonising), the more job opportunities there will be. India will do it first and foremost, for herself," the US Ambassador stated.
