In a recent development, a Delhi court has reserved its order on the bail pleas of four co-owners of a basement implicated in a tragic incident that led to the deaths of three UPSC aspirants.

The CBI has taken over the investigation into the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar. This development comes after the Delhi High Court ordered the central agency to take charge of the case due to flaws in the Delhi Police’s investigation and concerns about potential corruption by public servants.

Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi Marlena, alongside Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi, met with students protesting over the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants. The incident occurred on July 27, due to flooding in the basement of a coaching institute at Old Rajinder Nagar in Delhi.

Following the tragic deaths of three students at a coaching institute in Old Rajinder Nagar due to severe waterlogging, Delhi Minister Atishi addressed the issue on Wednesday. She shared that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) had received an interim inquiry report.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressed deep sorrow over the death of three civil services aspirants due to waterlogging in the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi. He described the incident as both "unfortunate and unacceptable," emphasising that such occurrences should not happen in the capital of India.
