The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch a significant membership drive on September 1, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in four states.

A BJP leader said Ali met the home minister in Delhi and discussed with him several issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir including the assembly elections.

The decision comes amid concerns over the safety of Indian nationals, particularly Hindus and other minority communities residing in Bangladesh.

In a letter sent on Saturday, MLA Debbarma raised concerns over a significant influx of Bangladeshi nationals from the Chittagong hill tracts, who he claims are residing in several areas within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

The Union Home minister guaranteed that BJP will form government in Jharkhand with full majority.

"The government has approved a 40 per cent risk and hardship allowance for NDRF personnel only yesterday. This has been a long pending demand... All the 16,000 personnel of the force will benefit from this," Shah said after welcoming the expedition named 'Vijay'.

Shah is likely to be apprised about the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the deployment of forces along the International Border and Line of Control, infiltration attempts, the status of ongoing anti-terror operations and the strength of terrorists operating in the Union Territory, sources said.

The ceremony, scheduled at 10 PM on Thursday at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar, will witness the oath-taking of Khandu and his council of ministers.

In response to the tragic fire at the TRP Gaming Zone in Rajkot, which resulted in the loss of 27 lives, including children, the Gujarat Home Minister has called for comprehensive action against those responsible.
