Addressing the pressing issue of human-wildlife conflicts in Kerala's Wayanad District, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, undertook a field visit to Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and Wayanad, Kerala. Accompanied by senior officers from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Yadav gained firsthand insights into the challenges faced by local communities.

The report breaks down the estimated snow leopard population in different states: Ladakh (477), Uttarakhand (124), Himachal Pradesh (51), Arunachal Pradesh (36), Sikkim (21), and Jammu and Kashmir (9).
