Speaking at a post-budget interaction with industry leaders, Goyal emphasized the positive impact of the 2024-25 budget on various sectors. "The Budget 2024-25 has removed the angel tax and through it, we will be able to attract investors into the country," he stated. Goyal also highlighted the reduction in customs duty for gold and silver, slashed from 15 percent to 6 percent. This cut aims to support small artisans and boost the country’s gems and jewellery exports.

"I would invite all of you to invest in India. India's growth story will continue unfettered at a scorching pace. India would continue to lead the world economy and will continue to be the most favoured destination for investment, and manufacturing," Goyal said.

"We have to make a corruption-free India. They (opposition) want to save their corruption, and we have to eradicate that... They will have to pay for whatever wrongs they have committed and the law catches up with you and the law is catching up with people who have done irregularities," Goyal said, at the Times Now Summit 2024 here.

Amidst the ongoing farmers' protest, a significant event unfolded as the Kisan Mahapanchayat, organized by the Samyukt Kisam Morcha (SKM), took center stage at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.

Tesla has been seeking tariff concessions from India, including offsetting customs duties for cars priced below certain thresholds. Minister Goyal emphasized that the government doesn't formulate policies based on individual company demands. Instead, it aims to create a conducive environment for all-electric vehicle manufacturers.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal echoes PM Modi's sentiments, expressing confidence in the mutually beneficial nature of the agreement and pledging support to exceed set targets for industry and businesses.

With the Election Commission expected to announce the poll schedule soon, and Lok Sabha elections likely in April-May, Goyal elaborated on various measures taken by the government in recent years to stabilize prices of food items like onions, tomatoes, and pulses.

Minister Goyal, along with Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda and Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, have already engaged with farmer representatives in four rounds of talks.

"Of course, I am very excited, I am looking forward to a decision being made by the party leaders and I do hope that I (will) get an opportunity to contest. It will be my privilege," he stated. 

The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs 12,869 crore per annum. The impact would be Rs 15,014 crore during the year 2024-25 (January 2024 to February 2025).

The proposed scheme envisages approximately 2180 applications, and it is anticipated that direct employment opportunities of about 83,000 will be generated during the scheme period. A significant number of indirect employment is also expected to be generated.

During the launch event, Goyal emphasized the transformative potential of the digital gateway, which will enable farmers to access post-harvest loans from banks using electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipts (e-NWRs). Currently, there are over 5,500 registered warehouses under the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), providing a substantial infrastructure for this initiative.
