Delhi University (DU) has clarified that it has no intention of conducting separate PhD entrance exams similar to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). This statement was made by Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh, who emphasised that the university is waiting for directives from the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the matter.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is contemplating a return to conducting its own entrance examinations for PhD admissions following the cancellation of the UGC NET exam due to concerns over its integrity. Initially slated to rely on UGC NET scores for PhD admissions this academic session, JNU is now reconsidering its approach.

The committee, headed by Koppillil Radhakrishnan, former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman and current Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Kanpur, aims to reform the examination process and improve data security protocols within the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Authorities revealed that the suspect had purportedly shared a section of the exam paper on Telegram.

This new legislation, unveiled on Friday, follows a series of high-profile cheating scandals in national exams like the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and UGC-NET, which have sparked public outrage and criticism towards the National Testing Agency.

Reports reveal that the leaked exam papers were being sold for prices ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000.
