IRF President Emeritus K K Kapila in a letter to MoRTH said there is an urgent need to provide seats belts in buses, which need to be made mandatory. "There have been heart-wrenching passenger bus accidents resulting in loss of innocent lives. Many of them would have been saved, had they been wearing seat belts," he said.

The protestors, led by the Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP), said they will continue the protest as before and once again attempt to march to Delhi after the Budget Session of Parliament is over.

In order to improve the road safety on the streets, the department has taken an initiative to deploy ITMS across Delhi which will help reduce the number of accidents and related fatalities with the help of advanced AI-based video analytics technology-based solution.
