Following the Deputy Speaker’s appeal, Biman Banerjee called both the MLAs to the floor of the House and administered the oath.

Their dharna entered the fourth day on Tuesday as they staged the sit-in on the West Bengal assembly premises on June 27, 28 and July 1.

The MLAs, Sayantika Bandyopadhyay and Rayat Hossain Sarkar, sat before the statue of BR Ambedkar, demanding that Governor CV Ananda Bose enable them to perform the duty of elected public representatives by facilitating the oath-taking ceremony inside the assembly.
