The NTCA has approved translocating tigers from Madhya Pradesh to Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Odisha to enhance genetic diversity. Madhya Pradesh, home to 785 tigers, will begin this transfer once state approval is granted. Wildlife experts support the move but emphasize ensuring the new habitats are safe for the tigers.

Tigers for Rajasthan will not be taken from protected areas but from buffer zones, complying with NTCA guidelines. Odisha's request for three tigers is pending. Requests followed Uttarakhand's successful relocation of four tigers from Corbett Tiger Reserve to Rajaji Tiger Reserve, according to officials.

The tigress was captured on March 7 and is awaiting necessary medical examination before translocation. The translocation is part of the ongoing Tiger Relocation Project aimed at increasing the tiger population at Rajaji.
