Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1A is an indigenous 4.5 generation, all-weather, and multi-role fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force. 

This move sees the total number of Tejas fighters poised to surpass 200, marking a significant milestone in India's indigenous defence capabilities.

"The Tejas Mk1A will have an advanced electronic RADAR, warfare and communication systems, additional combat capability and improved maintenance features," HAL said.

In the current warfare landscape, there is a continual need to upgrade the aircraft's weapons and sensor suite, as highlighted by the Ministry of Defence. To address this, ADA has initiated the transfer of know-how for integrating weapons and sensors to the Software Development Institute (SDI).

Fighter jet Rafale, Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand and Apache attack helicopters will be among the assets taking part in the exercise for the first time, Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal A P Singh told reporters here on Friday.
