India opener Abhishek Sharma has revealed that his mentor Yuvraj Singh was delighted when he got out for a duck on his T20I debut against Zimbabwe here as the swashbuckling former all-rounder, for reasons best known to him, felt it was a "good start".

Travis Head is two points ahead of Suryakumar (842 points) who dropped a spot to second.

"Pant is a young captain, he'll learn with time. The way he returned from injury to play a full season; we had our doubts during the off-season," Ganguly told JioCinema. 

“We've seen some high scores this year. And it's been incredible batting by a few teams and few individual players in this IPL. And look, I always see everyone judges a batter on the average," Miller stated. 

"T20 is always on the batting side, and it has gone to a whole new level this season. The way we set up, we had the best chance if we got some aggressive batters, and that's the way to win the tournament," Cummins said at the post-match press conference. 

Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu believes that Rohit Sharma would not have been replaced by Hardik Pandya as Mumbai Indians captain had the BCCI named him skipper for the T20 World Cup last year itself.

India's 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies is likely to be named in last week of April.

“I know my name is now attached to just promoting the game in different parts of the world when it comes to T20 cricket. I’ve still got it I guess,” he smiled cheekily but the message was for those who would debate his spot in the T20 World Cup squad.

The squad is not yet finalised but in his mind, India captain Rohit Sharma says he knows about 10 players who will be part of the side in the ICC T20 World Cup to be held this June in the Americas.

"Whenever you are playing for your country, your priority is to put everything aside and give your 100 percent in the park. They both are professionals, if they have any issue they will put it aside and give 100 percent for the country."

The selectors have clearly gone for the status quo rather than addressing the elephant in the room by picking Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their first T20 series in 14 months. Will it have a bearing on India's chances in another T20 World Cup? Only time can tell.
