A senior police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, disclosed, "We have asked some of the leaders from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and one person from the Northeast. But no one turned up for questioning on Thursday."

The agency's investigation alleges that Kejriwal was involved in the formulation of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, which supposedly enabled cartelisation and favored specific liquor traders. 

In its complaint, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that the Delhi chief minister intentionally did not want to obey the summonses and kept on giving "lame excuse". If a high-ranking public functionary like him disobeyed the law, it would "set a wrong example for the common man ie the "Aam Aadmi", the agency said.

The complaint was filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra, who put up the matter for further hearing on February 7.

The ED recorded Soren's statement for the first time in the case on January 20 after its investigators went to his official residence in Ranchi. 

By issuing the fresh notice, the ED has again rejected Kejriwal’s contention that the summonses issued to him were “not in consonance with the law” and hence should be withdrawn.
