Sam Pitroda, the head of the Indian Overseas Congress, the official subsidiary of the Indian national Congress operating outside India, resigned from his post after his racial remarks evoked heavy criticism from the ruling BJP as well as thousands of netizens.

The BJP's Sudhanshu Trivedi has lashed out at the Congress manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, alleging that it contains images from abroad, including "Rahul Gandhi's favorite destination, Thailand."
