The derailment took place at approximately 2:27 am when the engine of the Sabarmati Express, travelling from Varanasi to Gujarat, struck a large object placed on the tracks between Govindpuri and Bhimsen stations, according to railway officials.

Poudyal, 80, who was last seen on July 7, went missing after leaving his residence in Chota Singtam, Sikkim, to visit his elder sister.

Superintendent of Police Karma Gyamtso Bhutia announced the formation of the SIT, which is focusing its efforts on locating Poudyal.

The officials are investigating to ascertain the purpose of recording the videos and the possible involvement of other people in it. His mother Bhavani has been absconding in the case related to the abduction of a woman who was allegedly sexually abused by Prajwal Revanna.

Prajwal reportedly departed for Germany on April 27, the day following the polls in Hassan, and remains elusive.
