With the successful commissioning of this plant, AGEL's operational solar portfolio has increased to 6,243 MW, and the total operational renewable generation capacity to 9,784 MW, the largest in India, the statement added.

Projections suggest that by 2030, the country could face a staggering 600 kilotonnes of solar waste, mainly originating from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

Around 10 solar projects in Bundelkhand aim to produce 3,000 MW of power, spanning districts like Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba. Notably, Jhansi will host three units. Since 2017, the Yogi Adityanath government has spurred development, attracting investors. An additional 29 projects worth Rs 30,000 crore were launched.

The MoU between NLC India Limited and RVUNL involves an investment exceeding Rs 7000 Crores, focusing on establishing a 125 MW Lignite Pit-head Thermal Power Plant and a 1000 MW Solar Power Plant in Bikaner district.
