Shiv Sena MP Sandipan Bhumre and other leaders of the ruling party have stressed on a consensus and taking the Muslim community into confidence before any amendment is made to the Waqf Act.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of "bowing" before Delhi, and said the coming assembly elections are a fight against those who "hate" the state.

In recent events, political tensions in Maharashtra have taken a heated turn with an attack on the convoy of Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief. This incident has stirred significant controversy and has led to sharp criticisms from various political leaders.

The attackers were waiting outside, and allegedly attacked Thapar with swords, causing injuries to his head, said police. 

In the final phase of Maharashtra's Lok Sabha elections, 13 constituencies, including six in Mumbai, are up for polling on Monday. With over 2.46 crore eligible voters, the contest primarily revolves around the ruling Mahayuti alliance and opposition Shiv Sena-led coalition in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, where 10 of these 13 seats are located.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde claimed that the ruling Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP alliance walked the extra mile to grant 10% reservation to the Maratha community. He slammed the MVA ,comprising Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena (UBT), for opposing the decision.

Shiv Sena's Palghar MP, Dr. Rajendra Gavit, returns to the BJP after stints with Congress and Shiv Sena. He initially joined the BJP in 2018, won the Palghar Lok Sabha seat, then switched to the Shiv Sena in 2019. Now, he's back with the BJP, supported by Deputy CM Fadnavis and state unit chief Bawankule.

The bench refused to modify its directions issued in the March 19 order as sought by the Ajit Pawar-led bloc and said there appears to be no necessity.

"He has taken the decision to quit the Congress and wants to contest from a seat in Mumbai, which is likely to be offered to him by the Shinde Sena," the source disclosed.

The plea challenges the decision of the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar of declaring Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena as the 'real political party'. 

Joshi who also remained as a Teacher, began his political career in 1967.

Maharashtra State Congress chief Nana Patole and Mumbai unit president Varsha Gaikwad accompanied Chennithala to Thackeray's residence Matoshree in suburban Bandra.
