India opener Abhishek Sharma has revealed that his mentor Yuvraj Singh was delighted when he got out for a duck on his T20I debut against Zimbabwe here as the swashbuckling former all-rounder, for reasons best known to him, felt it was a "good start".

India's T20 World Cup champions were warmly welcomed by Zimbabwe Cricket upon their arrival at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport for a five-match T20I series starting this Saturday. The first match is scheduled for July 6 at the Harare Sports Club, which will also host the remaining games, concluding on July 14.

After an unbeaten 108 in the previous game, CSK skipper Gaikwad was on the cusp of another century on Sunday but fell two runs short of the milestone against Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

"To be honest, not deep conversations. I feel it was in a very chilled state. Just one conversation I would say. Just we were practicing and he came and told me all this stuff," Gaikwad said.

It will be a test of wits between two new captains -- Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad -- when defending champions Chennai Super Kings clash with Gujarat Titans in an Indian Premier League match here on Tuesday.

For the CSK captain, Mustafizur sending back a rampaging Du Plessis, who had struck eight fours in his 35 and Deepak Chahar bowling an incutter to get rid of Maxwell proved to be decisive despite 95-run stand between Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik.

The announcement was made by the Indian Premier League via a post on X, just a day before CSK faces Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK, a five-time champion, issued a brief statement confirming the transition.

With five IPL titles already under their belt, a sixth championship would establish CSK in a league of their own, surpassing even the formidable Mumbai Indians.
