US intelligence agencies have gone on record to accuse Russia of interfering in 2016 and 2020 Presidential election outcomes through information warfare, hacked databases and other similar means 

Amidst the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the United States has taken a significant step by transferring a substantial amount of seized weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. According to a statement from US Central Command (CENTCOM), thousands of infantry weapons and over 500,000 rounds of ammunition were handed over to Ukrainian forces last week.

US National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said information about such a planned attack had also been shared with Russian authorities.
