Chadha disclosed that her investment in a mutual fund became instrumental in covering expenses for one of the ceremonies during her wedding celebrations.

Chadha said she was initially worried her role as the lovelorn courtesan, who features in only the first two of the eight-episode series, would get lost. But she has always believed in "quality over quantity" and that didn’t bother her.

"Girls Will Be Girls" is an Indo-French co-production, a collaboration between Chadha and Fazal's banner Pushing Buttons Studios, Blink Digital, Crawling Angel Films and Dolce Vita Films.

The 37-year-old actor, known for films like “Gangs of Wasseypur”, “Fukrey” franchise, said for her debut home production, “Girls Will be Girls”, they trained and hired women in the lighting department.

The slate includes an adult animated project, a comedy, a satire, a documentary, and a fantasy drama film. Directed by Shuchi Talati, Girls Will Be Girls, a coming of age story of a teenager and her young mother, earned rave reviews at the international film festival in January this year.
