The BJP reiterated its demand for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's resignation following the High Court's decision to uphold his CBI arrest in the alleged excise policy scam. BJP claims the AAP government is paralyzed and corrupt, while AAP argues the case was not decided on its merits, maintaining Kejriwal's innocence.

Notably, the development took place after Hemant Soren was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on June 28. Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged land scam case on January 31.

Singh warned that rumours of his resignation could incite unnecessary public panic.

The MLAs, Hoshyar Singh, Ashish Sharma, and KL Thakur, submitted their resignations to the speaker on March 22, 2024, and joined the BJP the next day in New Delhi.

“The Hon’ble Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has tendered her resignation with immediate effect. The resignation has been submitted to the Honourable President of India,” an official communique said.

Purohit has tendered his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday. He has also resigned as Chandigarh Administrator
