During the course of its investigation into the Cafe blast, the NIA has conducted extensive searches at more than 29 locations across the country.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) intensified its probe into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case with raids at 11 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. These raids are part of an effort to uncover the full conspiracy behind the blast and identify other conspirators involved in aiding the accused from abroad.

The BJP’s remark drew a riposte from the TMC and West Bengal Police, which pointed out that the NIA arrested the accused with the help of the state police.

Following a prayer by the agency, the city court granted transit remand of two prime suspects.

The two suspects were absconding and were located by a team of the NIA from their hideout near Kolkata.

The case being a terror incident, any information on the identity of the witnesses may apart from hampering investigation also put at risk the individuals being summoned. Also, unverified news items hamper effective investigations in the case. NIA requests the cooperation of all in the arrest of absconding accused persons.

Muzammil Shareef was picked up on Wednesday and placed in custody as a co-conspirator after NIA teams cracked down at 18 locations, including 12 in Karnataka, five in Tamil Nadu and one in Uttar Pradesh, it said.

In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended a crucial suspect linked to the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast incident. Sources within the anti-terror agency revealed that the suspect, identified as Shabbir, was captured in Karnataka's Bellary district.

The Central Crime Branch of the Bengaluru police is collaborating with the NIA in the investigative process.

Officials obtained a body warrant from the NIA special court to arrest 26-year-old Minhaj alias Mohammed Sulaiman, a cloth merchant from Ballari, who was originally arrested on December 18, 2023

He said the suspect is said to have traveled towards the district headquarters town of Tumakuru by bus after the explosion, and officials are following the leads and verifying his movement till Ballari.
