With the media present, Rathore expressed his optimism about the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) performance, asserting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the party aims to secure victory on 400 seats nationwide.

"The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are not about who will become an MP and who will not. This election is about giving new energy to the resolve for a 'Viksit Bharat'," he said.

Since no other candidates were contesting, the three leaders were elected to Rajya Sabha unopposed, the officer said. 

He claimed that in the absence of an agreement between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and also because of the "stubbornness" of the previous Gehlot government, the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) could not move forward.

Party's state in-charge Arun Singh told reporters that the work done for the welfare of the poor, farmers, and the youth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the way India's respect has increased should be taken to the public.

Congress's Koonar garnered 94,950 votes, surpassing Singh, who received 83,667 votes.

A voter turnout of more than 80 per cent was recorded in the Karanpur assembly election in Rajasthan where minister Surendra Pal Singh is in the race as the BJP candidate

The election to the Assembly seat was deferred after the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar.The Congress has fielded Koonar's son, Rupinder Singh, from the seat.Surendra Pal Singh TT, the BJP nominee from the seat, has already been sworn in as a minister in the newly-formed state cabinet.

The voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm on Friday and the result will be declared on January 8, officials said.
