Despite the board's attempt to double his reward to Rs 5 crore, matching the players' bonus, Dravid opted to receive the standard coaching staff payout of ₹2.5 crore.

Dravid's contract initially ended after the ODI World Cup final last year, but he was requested to continue along with the support staff for the tour to South Africa in December-January without specifying the tenure.

"He (Rohit) has the ability, as I said, we won 10 games in the ODI World Cup. We didn't win the final, but it's part and parcel of the game. Whoever plays better, wins," Shah expressed.
