The 17-year-old minor reportedly involved in the fatal Porsche car crash in Pune, which resulted in the death of two techies, has fulfilled the bail conditions of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) by submitting a 300-word essay on road safety.

The teen, who the police allege was drunk and driving the luxury car when it struck a two-wheeler, resulting in the deaths of two techies, had been held at an observation home in Pune.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met the parents of the two engineers who died in the tragic Pune Porsche crash case. He assured them that those responsible for the accident would face strict punishment.

The court also granted bail to five other accused, including the owner and managers of two bars who were arrested for allegedly serving liquor to the underage patrons.

In the report to the Juvenile Justice Board, the police had filed a plea to allow them to treat the juvenile as an adult for the purpose of trial in the case.

Taware, Halnor, and Ghatkamble are accused of conspiring with the juvenile's parents to replace blood samples meant for tests to detect alcohol consumption. Gaikwad worked as the middleman between the accused doctors and the juvenile's father, as per police.

Two doctors of the Sassoon General Hospital have also been arrested for allegedly manipulating the teen’s blood sample.

Police have registered three separate cases after the car allegedly driven by a minor boy fatally knocked down two IT professionals travelling on a bike in Kalyani Nagar area on May 19.

Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar said the accident investigation has revealed that the juvenile's blood samples were replaced with those of his mother.  Police had told a local court two days ago that the blood samples of the juvenile were exchanged with those of a woman.  

In 2022, authorities recorded a total of 4.61 lakh road accidents, resulting in 1.68 lakh deaths and 4.43 lakh injuries. Alarmingly, overspeeding was a major factor, contributing to 1.19 lakh of these deaths.

The teenager was initially granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board, which also asked him to write an essay on road accidents, but following outrage over the lenient treatment and a review application by the police, he was sent to an observation home till June 5.
